Mátra wine region
Mátra wine region is one of the biggest wine producing area in Hungary with very good ecological conditions.
The area is protected by Mátra Mountain, the soiles are diversified and rich in food-value. The wines of the region are generally white that can be featured by fine fragrance and flavour. The speciality of the region is Italian riesling with fragrance of flowers and a little bitter flavour. Beside the Italian riesling can be found the following species of grape: Pinot Gris, Chardonnay,Muscat Ottonel, Lindenleaf, Leányka
The Ludányi wine cellar has been working in Gyöngyöstarján since 1995. Our purpose is to make high quality special wines by the most modern technologies and equipments. We have own 9 hectares of premium quality grape producing area. The excellent row materials are guaranteed by limited crop and special attention of production.
Proportion of white grapes are 90 per cent and the others are red ones.
Our plantation consists of Italian riesling, Pinot Gris, Muscat Lunel, Cserszegi Spicy, Zenith,
Kékfrankos, Cabernet Sauvignon.
The wines, both red and white, are made by reductiv technology (cooled and controlled
fermentation, stocking in stainless-steel tanks) so they preserve their freshness and fruitiness. Our works is guided by producing excellent, quality wines which can be enjoyed by domestic and foreigner customers. The wines can be found in many restaurants in Hungary.
